Just a thought...

Saw this on the BBC news website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7265301.stm

MKR allege that Capcom have infringed the copyright of Dawn of the Dead, because their game Dead Rising features a 'thoughtful social commentary on the 'mall culture' zeitgeist.'

How exactly Dead Rising manages this when all the player does is run around twatting zombies with a range of weapons from baseball bats to inflatable teddy bears is anyone's guess.

That's ridiculous, frankly. You can't copyright "men fighting zombies in a mall," especially because it's a totally separate medium. If someone made a movie about someone killing zombies in mall there would be unavoidable similarities but you can't copywrite an idea or a premise. I'll be curious to see how this one turns out as it might just set a precedent.
