UK artwork for J. V. Jones' Watcher of the Dead revealed

And here it is:

Thankfully there's not a hooded figure in sight, though I must say out of the four UK covers so far for this series I like this one the least. My favourite is easily the cover for A Fortress of Grey Ice, which I think is fantastic and perfectly matches the atmosphere of the book (annoyingly I can't find an image of it online that does it justice).

Do you have a general opinion of JV Jones, as an author? Have you read this series? I made a 50-page dent in A Cavern of Black Ice last year, and then got sidetracked and never went back to it... would it be worth it to give it another go, or should I leave it be, to continue to gather dust on my Shelf of Forgotten Books?

David - I'm glad you asked! As it happens, I've read the first two books in this series and happen to rank them among the finest epic fantasy I've read. Seriously, I rate them that highly. I've not read the 3rd book, which allegedly is a bit disappointing, but certainly the first two are terrific.
